Our Aims

To secure a high level of language acquisition and development (reading, writing, speaking and listening), and understand its relevance, beauty and wider application for each other and the world of work.

 

Facilities

The Communicate Learning Zone is housed in a two-storey corridor in the Oaklands area of the school. There are eleven classrooms, all of which are equipped with interactive whiteboards and visualisers. One of the classrooms on the first floor has a number of computers for student use, while the ground floor is home to a dedicated computer room. Nearby is the new Media suite, which is home to a number of Apple iMac computers. There are also two staff workrooms.

Other resources include video cameras, sound recording equipment and trolley of netbooks.

As one would expect, the learning zone possess a large number of novels, novellas, short stories, plays, poetry collections and textbooks. In addition, there is an ever-growing library of DVDs and specialist computer software.
