National Careers Week
On Wednesday 8th March we welcomed a few special visitors into school to help celebrate National Careers Week.
We held a special assembly for Y9 students where we heard about the career path of Roy Kelly who always dreamed of becoming a pilot and how he made the dream a reality. His story is one of resilience, determination and dedication and we hope our students were inspired by his message. He now works for Flyme and told us about their high tech premises in Barnsley. www.Flyme.co.uk
At break times we held a mini careers cafe with guests from local colleges and training providers. All our students were given the opportunity to call in and talk with their representatives about their career ideas and plans. It was a positive and well attended experience. Our guests were full of praise for our students and commented on their high level of engagement and enthusiasm.
