Timeline for Y10 & Y11

Y10/Y11 – Summer term/September

Research career ideas and college courses. Check out GCSE grades required for the courses you want to do. Look at the section on Post-16 Providers and Useful websites.
Start your personal statement. Look at the section on Personal statements (This also includes some CV templates).

Y11 October

Start to attend open events at colleges and 6th forms. Look at the section on Colleges and Post 16 Choices.
Start to apply for courses on UCAS Progress.

Y11 November – February

Continue to attend open events.
Continue to apply for courses – There will be some closing dates for courses from January onwards so make sure you are aware of these.
Attend interviews at colleges and 6th forms. See the pupil map section for information on CV's, personal Statements & Interviews.

Y11 March

Start to apply for Apprenticeships and attend advertised open events with employers. Click here to access information on Apprenticeships.
Put together a CV. Visit the pupil map section for tips on CVs. Click here to look at CV Templates.

Y11 April onwards

Continue to apply for Apprenticeships. If you have not been offered a place at a college or 6th form speak to your Tutor and/or Careers Adviser in the LRC.
