Learning Support

Additional Resource Centre (ARC)

ARC offer curriculum and pastoral support for pupils across the whole school.

A specialist staff team, under the direction of the SENCO,  support pupils within the classroom and in withdrawal  sessions. The team work alongside the class teacher to  enable pupils with additional educational needs and/or  special educational needs or disabilities to access quality  first teaching. The ARC staff team work closely with pupils,  parents, school staff and a range of outside agencies to  support pupils in securing their future goals and reach their  potential so they are able to transition successfully to post 16 or the workplace.

ARC also offers emotional health and wellbeing support for  pupils. Along with four mental health first aiders, ARC has a  dedicated team of staff who work with pupils to encourage  and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

Depending on need, some pupils are able to choose Learning Support as one of their Option choices. Pupils who are eligible to choose this Option will know and so will their parents / carers.
