Timeline Year 10 & Year 11

Y10/Y11 – Summer term/September

• Research career ideas and college courses. Check out GCSE grades required for the courses you want to do. Look at the section on Post-16 Providers and Useful websites.
• Start your personal statement. Look at the section on Pupil Map.

Y11 October

• Start to attend open events at colleges and 6th forms.  Look at the section on Colleges and Post 16 Choices.
• Start to apply for courses.

Y11 November – February

• Continue to attend open events.
• Continue to apply for courses – There will be some closing dates for courses from January onwards so make sure you are aware of these.
• Attend interviews at colleges and 6th forms.  See the pupil map section for information on CV’s, personal Statements & Interviews.

Y11 March

• Start to apply for Apprenticeships and attend advertised open events with employers.  Click here to access information on Apprenticeships.
• Put together a CV.  Visit the pupil map section for tips on CVs.

Y11 April onwards

• Continue to apply for Apprenticeships. If you have not been offered a place at a college or 6th form speak to your Tutor and/or Careers Adviser in School.
