School Attendance
December 4, 2024
We want to thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring that your children attend school regularly. Maintaining high attendance is crucial for their learning, development, and well-being.
As expected during the winter months, seasonal illnesses are circulating. To support families, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has published advice on how to reduce the spread of these illnesses. We encourage you to follow this guidance to help keep everyone in our school community as healthy as possible.
We’d like to remind you of the importance of following NHS guidance when deciding if your child is too unwell for school. In most cases, children can still attend school if they have a mild cough or cold. However, if they have a fever, or symptoms such as diarrhoea and vomiting, they should remain at home until they feel better.
Please avoid keeping your child off school on a precautionary basis unless advised otherwise by a medical professional. If you’re unsure, the NHS website offers helpful advice on managing common childhood illnesses and when it’s appropriate to keep children at home.
Thank you for your support in helping us to maintain a healthy and focused learning environment for all.
